CK Andrew is a high school mathematics and English teacher and Pittsburgh native always eager to explore the possibility of hauntings in the region and throughout the country. Her literary background coincides with a lifelong interest in the validity of local legends and purported hauntings. Additionally, her background of graduate study at the University of Pittsburgh in Acoustic and Auditory Phonetics has led to an interest in the possible physics of disembodied speech phenomenon; given the acoustic requirements put on the vocal tract for human speech production, is disembodied speech able to be analyzed in the same manner as human speech with regard to harmonics and formant frequency? CK hopes to explore this question and many other questions of paranormal activity as a member of the GSI Team.

Sharon Bascovsky has had paranormal experiences ever since she was a child. Her first memory was at the age of 10 when her grandfather had passed away from an unexpected stroke. After the stroke but prior to his death, Sharon kept having thoughts of what it might be like at his funeral and how people would react, but she never spoke word of those thoughts to anyone. When her father sat her down to tell her that her grandfather died, she had thought that she had caused it by her thoughts, which began her obsession with death and the paranormal. At the age of 15, she got her first guitar and started writing music as a way to express the darker side of life. In 1988, she started up the first all female death metal band Derketa whose songs’ lyrical content mainly dealt with the supernatural. Throughout the years, she has had various unexplainable experiences of objects moving, sometimes witnessed by others; hearing a voice that answered her thoughts; and sensing things before they happen. She has been on a quest to find out the cause of these experiences and joined up with Ghost Story Investigations in 2010 in hopes of finding some answers.

Jeremy Bowker has been interested in the “mysterious side of life” ever since he was a young boy. He recalls watching TV shows such as Unsolved Mysteries, Sightings, and various programs on the Discovery Channel that dealt with the strange and the paranormal. He was particularly drawn to the topic of cryptozoology and creature legends such as Bigfoot and the Chupacabra. However, it was the (allegedly true) ghost stories that he was told by friends and family members that would make the greatest lasting impression. Hailing from the small-town of New Waterford, Ohio, Jeremy began investigating local haunts and stories which were whispered throughout the community. Jeremy joined G.S.I. after hearing about the group from his friend Adam Iliff. Jeremy now concentrates on his new areas of specialty such as doing background research on locations and managing the tech department.

Scott Warner’s interest in the paranormal began at an early age when he saw a ghostly white figure standing at the foot of his bed. For the next few years, he deprived himself of air while sleeping with the covers over my head. In his adulthood, he remembers walking into Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hall in Pittsburgh (which is said to be haunted) and feeling a pushing sensation on his chest. He didn't make a connection until he visited Dachau concentration camp. He felt the same sensation when he walked into a room which he later found out was where dead bodies were placed. He can’t forget Gettysburg. Every time he’s visited there, he feels claustrophobic and gets headaches. Scott has been doing some research about his family history and has discovered that between the 1300s and late 1800s, at least four family members have been beheaded. Not by accident, but by certain events out of their control. One night, he came back from a site (with a family connection) and a statue next to his bed was turned facing the wall with its head snapped off. He believes something or someone followed him home. Needless to say, after that point Scott’s decided to seriously investigate the paranormal. He is a firm believer in using his personal feelings to investigate, yet is not afraid to use technology to help debunk any evidence he might find.
